Everton’s 27-year-old tree trunk-like No. 5 and central defender, Michael Keane, says Project Restart will change nothing. Keane has broken his silence to hit out at those Premier League players who have been making headlines for the wrong reasons as they seem incapable of properly self-isolating.
“They’ve treated this whole virus pandemic thing like it’s some kind of joke that doesn’t affect them. Believe me, when that first whistle blows on June 17th, they’ll go at it hammer and tongs like nothing ever happened – clattering into each other and the like. Not me.”
Keane continued, “I’ve been self-isolating for a long time now. Even when the season was in full swing and we were playing, I was always at least two metres away from any centre forward I was supposed to be marking. Can’t see me doing any different after the 17th.”
