With the transfer window entering its last few hours, Man United have created real deadline drama. They’ve sent the press into a spin with a shock transfer statement. According to rumours coming out of Old Trafford, there is definitely one player left in Europe who Man United have NOT yet expressed interest in.
A Red Devils’ spokesperson today confirmed it. “We can confirm that there is ONE player left who we haven’t yet announced an interest in. Our scouting system is simple. Every day we scour the back pages. We see who the big teams are looking to buy and then quickly throw our hat in the ring. Who gives a sh*t if it’s a defender or a striker? The fans need to believe we’re looking to buy and – you never know – the players may not realise how poor we’ve been over the last year or three – and fall for us.”
And football journalists have been busy all summer trying to keep up with the possible purchases mentioned by sources at Old Trafford.
Kante, Luka Jovic, Kerr Smith, Gareth Bale, Jude Bellingham, Uros Racic, Jadon Sancho again, Alex Luna, Declan Rice, Dayot Upamecano, Raul Jimenez, Lucas Ocampos, Ismaila Sarr, Jack Grealish, Joe Rodon and Ousmane Dembele – not to mention Jadon Sancho. The press are reeling with the news that, apparently, Edward Woodward and his suggestions box have finally run dry.
The single player in question has asked not to be named since it is understood that every other player has been approached by Manchester United at some point this summer. He is now undergoing therapy over his feelings of being unwanted and sharing laughs with Alexis Sanchez.
