Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, having quickly apologised, has now explained why he mistakenly called Marcus Rashford ‘Daniel’ on live TV.
Two days ago he stated to the nation that he and the young Man United and England striker were bezzies and had been for as long as either of them can remember. Within 24 hours, Hancock gave his BFF an incorrect name-check, calling him ‘Daniel Rashford’.
“It was my own silly fault,” Hancock chuckled. “It was a stupid mistake to make so I’d like to take this opportunity to explain my confusion: Marcus Rashford, obviously, is my blood brother. Whereas Daniel Rashford is, of course, Harry Potter. No, wait. That’s the wrong name too! Damn. Sorry – I meant Beatrix Potter.”
